The 3rd Health Sector Development Partner Forum is a platform for the development of partnerships and strengthening of a cordination mechanism that works to crowd-in finance to strenghten the health system.
The 3rd HSDPF shall bring together the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Devolution and Arid and Semi-Arid Lands Development, the National Treasury, several County Governments, academia, deveopment partners, implementing partners, health development organistaions, health service delivery orgnisations and several other actors from the public and private sector.
HSDPF develops and coordinates cross-disciplinary partnerships, inter-agency, interministerial and intergovernmental partnerships, North-South, South-South and triangular partnerships as well as Public Private Partnerships (PPPs). HSDPF partners jointly work in: advocacy, policy dialogue, triangulated impact assessments and domestic resource mobilisation for development interventions both in the health system and within the systems in which social determinants of health are nested. HSDPF also works as a collective mechanism and crowds-in finance from local and international, public and private sources, creating financial products and financing instruments with a wide range of actors in the development finance landscape.
HSDPF was created to foster partnerships that augment the creation of a coordinated, cohesive and coherent health system that supports a one-health approach at community and primary level and increases financing and partnerships for delivery at these levels. These partnerships have the capability for sustainablly and domestically financing: interventions towards the dual communicable and non-communicable disease burden, improving public health outcomes, health systems strengthening and disaster risk reduction.
